Barclays bank are one of my Worst opponents, their actions quite unforgivable.
Their claim - "If you're just starting out, we'll give you the support and services you need to help you achieve your goals and set you on the path to success"
That is not exactly what they did for me..
I had two accounts with Barclays
One in my name, and the second trading as "City Puppets"
I had a "Hiccup" with my business cashflow, and barclays wanted to close both accounts.
I still had money in my city puppets acount, so I approached my business banking manager with a solution
I said I would focus on my "city puppets account, where my average personal selling was turning over £25 an hour..
They wanted to close my account to clear the other one.
My rescue plan was to purchase more stock (badges), from this accounts funds.
Barclays said I could issue a cheque for these, which I did.
Barclays then bounced my cheque
My supplier could not be expected to trust me after this. so trading stopped.
Since that date some years ago, barclays collection agents have constantly harrassed me.
To date, the bill has nore than doubled with their charges.
and two other credit cards (Barclays & Capital) have totaled nearly £1000 each
I hold Barclays directly responsible for these.
They have also crippled my credit history
If Barclays are truely honourable, they would pay off these, repair my credit history, and set up a new account for we to start trading again.
If you are reading this... Then they have not.. and I would definatly recommend people to stay away from Barclays.
Their words ... mean nothing
"Helping small business?" - that's Tripe, the moment they got nevous they pulled the plug!
Hardly the business partner you want.

Barclays sent me this responce:

12/09/08 - Some months have now passed, I have not recieved that Letter they spoke of .
It is now time to go public outside their Bank in Milsom Street in Bath
Big Ted plans to help, to bring more impact to the news story
I plan to do this next Wednesday 17/09/08
I now also have Capital Credit about to take legal action for nearly £1,000, which was incurred as a by-product of Barclays mess
12/09/08 I phoned Relations this morning, to notify them of my intended action
They have no record of my complaint on file
This is rather strange, as I have displayed their letter above.
and they still proport to...

But maybe they were being honest ... "f you're starting up "
But the moment your acount is open... They close your acount if they get nervous, and do not have a suitable complaint proceedure in place.
Again.... Hardly the business partner you can rely on !
